Dominic A. Pacyga
Dominic A. Pacyga is a professor emeritus of history at Columbia College Chicago and winner of the Mieczyslaw Haiman Award for his contributions to the study of Polish Americans. He has written multiple books on Chicago’s Polish community, including American Warsaw: The Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of Polish Chicago and Polish Immigrants and Industrial Chicago: Workers on the South Side, 1880–1922, and was one of the project historians for Back Home.

The Lira Ensemble
The Lira Ensemble is the nation’s only professional performing arts company specializing in Polish music, song, and dance. Lira is the arts outreach group of Chicagoland’s Polish American community and its mission is to bring the best of Polish culture into American life.
